Gold Coast · Byron Bay · Tweed Coast
Wedding celebrant prices on the Gold Coast swing from a few hundred to a few thousand dollars. My packages start at $550 (legals only, Sunday to Friday; Saturdays from $750) and top out at $1,250 (fully custom). No hidden fees, no surprise upsells.

There's nothing embarrassing about caring what something costs. Most couples I marry have a budget, and most have already had a small heart attack about how fast it's disappearing. Searching for an affordable celebrant isn't doing it on the cheap. It's just sensible.
So here's the lay of the land: what celebrants actually cost on the Gold Coast, what should be included, and where the corners get cut at the cheaper end.
There's no shame in asking what something costs. The shame is in not knowing until the invoice arrives.
Expect to see prices from around $400 at the budget end to $2,500+ for the well-known names. Most legitimate celebrants sit between $700 and $1,500. Below that, something's usually missing: paperwork charged separately, travel as an extra, weekday-only rates, or a brand-new celebrant building their portfolio (fine, just verify).
My four packages: $550 legals only (Sunday to Friday; Saturdays $750), $750 micro wedding (up to 20 guests), $950 classic with PA, $1,250 fully custom. Every package includes paperwork, certificate, post-ceremony lodgement, unlimited contact beforehand, and travel within the Gold Coast and Tweed. The price you see is the price you pay.
Honestly, sometimes nowhere. A sub-$550 price doesn't always mean a worse experience. But the patterns I've seen at the bottom end: paperwork as an extra, no PA, no rehearsal, certificates as an add-on, travel charged from a postcode that surprises you. Not always a scam. Just a different pricing model where the headline number isn't what you actually pay.
My pricing is set so that doesn't happen. Book the Legals Only package from $550, plus $1 per kilometre if your ceremony is outside the Gold Coast or Tweed area. That's it.
I'm based on the southern Gold Coast / Tweed Coast and travel happily across the Gold Coast, Byron Bay, and the Tweed. Within the Gold Coast and Tweed area, travel is included. Brisbane, the Sunshine Coast, and the hinterland are reachable for an extra travel fee, and I'll quote you exactly before you commit. If you want to know the total for your specific venue, send me the address and your date and I'll come back with a number, fast.

Send me your date, a rough guest count, and the kind of ceremony you've been imagining. Doesn't need to be detailed; a couple of sentences is plenty for me to work out which package fits.

No upsell, no commission-driven nudge towards the most expensive option. If Legals Only is the right fit, that's what I'll suggest. If something custom suits you better, I'll say that instead.

A deposit secures your wedding day and we plan from there. Balance is paid before the ceremony, with a payment plan if that's easier. From there, I handle everything legal.

"We thought we'd have to choose between cheap and good. Ellie was both. Nothing about our ceremony felt like the budget version of anything."
Probably not. There are celebrants on the Gold Coast charging less than $550, and there are celebrants charging more than $2,000. My pricing sits in the affordable middle of the market. The honest answer is that price isn't the only thing worth comparing. Look at what's actually included before deciding.
My Legals Only package starts at $550 Sunday to Friday. Saturdays are $750 because Saturday afternoons book first. It's a short, legally complete ceremony with two witnesses, all paperwork sorted, and your marriage certificate on the day. Most couples choosing this option are eloping or just want to be married without the bigger production. Full pricing is on the packages page.
Usually one of three reasons. They're brand new and building a portfolio (genuinely fine, just verify). They're charging extra for things I include as standard (paperwork, lodgement, certificates, travel). Or the sub-$400 price is a weekday-only rate that doesn't apply to your date. Read the fine print before comparing.
Yes. The standard arrangement is a deposit to secure your date and the balance before the ceremony, but I'm happy to split the balance across a couple of payments if that helps. Just ask when you book.
Legally and emotionally, no. The marriage certificate from a $550 ceremony is identical to one from a $2,500 ceremony. The thing that's smaller is the production around it: shorter ceremony, fewer guests, less customisation. Plenty of couples genuinely prefer this. It isn't a budget compromise, it's a different choice.
No. The price you see is the price you pay. The only thing on top is travel beyond your tier's included area ($1 per kilometre). Anything else (a fully bilingual ceremony, an official BDM certificate) is spelled out on the packages page. No surprise fees.
Send me your date and venue and I'll come back with the exact total. No commission pitch, no upsell.
