Kingscliff Wedding Celebrant

Kingscliff is the biggest, busiest, most options-rich town on the Tweed Coast, and I live five minutes south. I know the venues, the council, the headland walks, and which beach faces the right way for a 4pm ceremony in May.

Golden hour wedding ceremony with Ellie celebrating in Kingscliff

If you're getting married on the Tweed Coast, Kingscliff is probably where your guests are staying. It has the most accommodation, the most venues, the most options for the rehearsal dinner and the recovery brunch, and the easiest airport runs from Gold Coast and Ballina. That's the reason couples land here even when their ceremony is somewhere quieter down the coast.

Kingscliff splits roughly into two flavours. There's central Kingscliff, anchored around Marine Parade and Kingscliff Beach itself, which has the bowls club, the surf club, the Beach Hotel, and Babalou. Then there's the Salt Village precinct at the southern end, which is the resort cluster: Mantra on Salt Beach, Peppers Salt Resort and Salt Bar all sit on a few hundred metres of beachfront. Both ends are great. Different vibes entirely.

"Kingscliff is the town where your aunt who's not great at directions can still find the ceremony. That counts for more than people admit."

Where Kingscliff weddings actually happen

Most Kingscliff ceremonies fall into three buckets. Beach or headland on Tweed Shire Council permit: Kingscliff Beach itself, Rowan Robinson Park, or Cudgen Headland up the northern end. Resort grounds at Mantra, Peppers, or the Salt Bar lawn. Indoor or covered at Babalou or the Beach Bowls Club, for couples who don't want to gamble on weather.

I'll talk through which option matches your guest count and your timeline. Beach permits are inexpensive but they take a couple of weeks to come through. Resort venues handle that for you, but they have their own ceremony slots. None of it is hard, it just helps to have someone local who's done it dozens of times.

For couples looking at something smaller and quieter, my legal-only ceremony works perfectly at Kingscliff. Two of you, two witnesses, ten minutes, often on the beach itself. From $550.

Quick questions

Yes. Kingscliff Beach, Rowan Robinson Park and Cudgen Headland are all council-permitted ceremony locations under Tweed Shire Council. Permits are inexpensive but they take around two weeks. I'll walk you through it and confirm the best spot for your guest numbers and time of day.

Kingscliff is the main beachside town. Salt Village is a resort precinct at the southern end where Mantra and Peppers sit. Casuarina is the next village south. They're all within a five-minute drive of each other and share the same beach and council permit system.

No. I live five minutes south in Casuarina. Kingscliff is home territory and there's no travel fee for any wedding in the Tweed Coast region.

Yes, regularly. Lots of couples on the Tweed have Spanish-speaking family flying in from overseas. I'm a native Spanish speaker and write ceremonies in Spanish, English, or any blend of the two. More on the Spanish ceremonies page.
