Cabarita Beach Wedding Celebrant

Cabarita is the prettiest village on the Tweed Coast, and somehow still the quietest. From the cliff at Norries Headland to the sand below Halcyon House, there isn't a bad ceremony spot here.

Outdoor wedding signing during a Cabarita Beach ceremony

If you've ever stood on Norries Headland at sunset and looked north toward Snapper Rocks, you already know why Cabarita is on so many couples' lists. The headland is one of the most-photographed ceremony spots in northern NSW. The Cove, on the sheltered side at Maggies Beach, is the quieter alternative for couples who don't want the open ocean wind.

Below the headland, the village itself sits compactly around Tweed Coast Road. There's Halcyon House at one end, a boutique hatted hotel that handles maybe twenty weddings a year, all of them small. There's the Cabarita Beach SLSC at the other, casual and beachfront, with a function room and a deck that looks straight out across the surf. And in between is the Bowls Club, the bakery, the IGA, and not a lot else. That's part of the charm.

"Cabarita is the village where the ceremony, the dinner, and the morning-after coffee all happen within a hundred metres of each other."

Where Cabarita weddings happen

For something elevated and small, Halcyon House is unmatched on the Tweed Coast. Capacity is around 40 to 50 guests on site, ceremony plus reception. For something larger and more relaxed, the Cabarita Beach SLSC and Cabarita Beach Bowls Club both run weddings well into triple-digit guest counts.

For the council-permitted outdoor option, Norries Headland and Johansen Park at The Cove sit a few minutes apart on the headland. Both are stunning, both need a Tweed Shire Council park-hire permit, and both are non-exclusive, meaning a few dog-walkers might wander past. Most couples are fine with that.

I'm based five minutes south in Casuarina, so there's no travel fee. I also run legal-only ceremonies on Cabarita Beach from $550 if you'd rather skip the full production.

Venues in & around Cabarita

Cabarita's six core ceremony venues, including the council headland reserves and the nearby surf club.

Quick questions

Yes. Both Norries Headland and the beach reserves are Tweed Shire Council park-hire ceremony sites. Permits are inexpensive and take around two weeks. They're non-exclusive — your ceremony will share the headland with the occasional dog-walker. I'll send the link and confirm the best spot for your guest count.

Halcyon does intimate beautifully. Couples regularly have ceremonies of 10 to 30 guests there. The venue handles ceremony and reception together, and the on-site restaurant Paper Daisy takes care of dinner. Speak to Halcyon directly for their current packages.

No. I live five minutes south in Casuarina. No travel fee anywhere on the Tweed Coast.

Absolutely. From two of you plus two witnesses, on the beach or up on the headland. About ten minutes total. From $550. Full details on the legal-only ceremony page.
